Kansas Association of Defense Counsel

This year’s keynote speaker, Patricia Miller, has tried more than 60 cases to trial in federal court alone, and currently serves as the Chief of the Special Federal Litigation Division for the New York City Law Department. In her current role, Ms. Miller supervises the department responsible for defending all federal civil rights lawsuits brought against NYC law enforcement.

Ms. Miller will speak about her trial preparation, and success strategies, as well as her experience in handling excessive-force lawsuits.

In addition to being a sought-after lecturer and adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law, Ms. Miller was named as one of the Top Women in Law 2016 by the New York Law Journal, and is the 2013 recipient of the Jane M. Bolin Diversity in Leadership Award. Ms. Miller was also the 2017 recipient of the Shira A. Scheindlin Award for Excellence in the Courtroom.
